Whitney Mayer joins our school as the new Instructional Technology Facilitator and Testing Coordinator. We are happy to welcome her to the ECHS family!

About Whitney:
I am thrilled to be the new Instructional Technology Facilitator at ECHS! I hold a B.S. in Child Development from Meredith College and a Birth-Kindergarten teaching license from East Carolina University. I’ve been teaching for 14 years, but I’m currently expanding my toolkit by completing my Master’s degree in Learning, Design, and Technology at UNCC, graduating this December!

I am incredibly excited to collaborate with the teachers and students and find innovative, meaningful, and engaging ways to implement technology into the classrooms.

Outside of school, I share my life with my husband and two very busy boys. You can usually find me curled up with a good book, out on the golf course, or cheering from the sidelines of a soccer field.

William Lewis stands in front of a colorful bulletin board.
Our students and a group of 8th grade visitors spent time learning how to plant and care for flowers with the help of volunteers, Mr. and Mrs. Kappel. Students filled pots with soil and carefully moved flowers into new pots, so they have room to continue growing.
This hands-on activity gave students the opportunity to practice following directions and building fine motor skills while learning about plant care and responsibility.
