East Carteret’s Battle of the Books team traveled to Kinston today and earned 2nd place at the NCSLMA Region 2 High School Battle of the Books competition.

Cole Goodwin is our Social Studies Student of the Week. He is a Freshman in World History Honors Class. Cole is also a member of the ECHS Quiz Bowl Team. He is a big reader and very conscious of his work and studies. We are very proud of Cole and his accomplishments!

Haidyn Small has been chosen Social Studies Student of the Week in recognition of her outstanding efforts in American History. She completes every assignment and does her best work every day!! Haidyn is very conscientious and made sure to complete all "snow" assignments and make up work from her bout with the flu. Her outstanding average is evidence of her commitment to academic success!!

Spring Volunteer Training will be held on March 2nd from 5-5:30 pm in the Library Media Center.

Ava Lee is our Social Studies Student of the Week! Ava is a studious, conscientious, and diligent student in Sophomore Civics class 2nd period. She is off to a great start in class this semester!

Zoey Buckner is in World History Honors class and is this week's Social Studies Student of the Week. Zoey is a model student. She is thoughtful and kind to her fellow students. Zoey puts forth tremendous effort and attention to detail in her school work. Congratulations Zoey!

The East Carteret Junior/Senior Prom will be held on March 27, 2026. All guest passes are $30 and will be on sale until March 6. Juniors and Seniors can purchase in Mrs. Willis' room before or after school or in the front office. Guest forms are available in the front office. Tickets purchased after March 6 will be $40.

This week's Social Studies student of the week is current APUSH student Ayush Malhotra. Ayush does a wonderful job exploring the intricate and nuanced points of American History, incorporating his studies into his classwork. Ayush was recently accepted to Cornell University, where he plans to study engineering.
