2024-25 High School Course Selection Guide
Students, with the assistance of their caregivers, will fill out a registration sheet selecting core classes and prioritizing preferred electives. Then they will meet 1 on 1 with their school counselor to identify the 8 classes they want in their schedule with some alternate elective back ups. Counselors discuss futrue plans and historical grades to advise students.
Things to know about registration:
- It is not 1st come 1st serve - the true scheduling work does not happen until July
- The Master Schedule is created in May based on the enrollment numbers from registration
- We do not know for sure who is teaching what
- Students should select classes based on their interests; not their friend's interests
- In July counselors work on schedules starting with Seniors and work down to Freshmen
- Most elective classes have a cap - maximum number of students - and will fill up
- It is a fluid process
Drop/Add - Schedule adjustments
- Course selections can be changed through April
- Appointments can be made 2 weeks prior to school starting to adjust the schedule - dates are To Be Announced (TBA)
- Students have the first 5 days of the 1st semester and the first 3 days of the 2nd semster to drop and add classes
