- UNC Charlotte: Levine Scholarship: You may self nominate or ask a counselor to nominate you. The Levine Scholars Program takes the brightest, most capable students and gives them the tools, resources and environment they need to explore the world around them, engage deeply in their communities and excel across discipline. The four-year scholarship includes full tuition, room, board, a grant to implement a service project of the Scholar’s own design, and four summers of experiences that will develop leadership skills, social awareness and an international perspective. The total value of this four-year package is estimated at $105,000 for in-state students and $155,000 for out-of-state students. Deadline: Due October 8.

- UNC Central and NC A&T - Cheatham-White Scholarship: You may self-nominate or Ask a counselor to nominate you.The Cheatham-White Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program for students attending North Carolina Central University and N. C. Agricultural and Technical State University beginning Fall 2018. This program was designed to provide an outstanding educational experience for exceptional scholars who have a wide range of interests, are proficient in both the arts and sciences, and demonstrate leadership potential and a strong commitment to service. Cheatham-White is a fully funded four-year scholarship. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees, housing, meals, textbooks, a laptop, travel, and personal expenses. - Austin Sherron Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship is for a graduating senior from one of the 3 high schools in Carteret County. The student is required to have played a minimum of two semesters of participation in any sport offered at your school. There is a minimum of one recommendation letter from a coach or teacher. A minimum 300 word essay is required relaying adversity or a hard coming that you currently are facing or will continue to face in your lifetime. The Foundation is looking for a student that embodies the spirit and attitude Austin had towards life. Someone, despite life, will never give up. Deadline TBD. - Kim Johnson Memorial Scholarship 2023: A $1,000 scholarship awarded to a high school student whose parent / guardian is an active REALTOR or Business Partner member with the Carteret County Association of Realtors and who is graduating and is a resident of Carteret County. - Alice Pake Noe Memorial Scholarship - Alice Noe was born and raised in Beaufort, NC and dedicated her life to children and raising her five boys. She had a deep love for children and she worked in the nursery at several churches here in Beaufort and she provided childcare in her home for many children over the course of her life. She wanted to see children and young people succeed and she would do all she could do to help them. This scholarship goes to a student that shares her passion and is pursuing a 2 year or 4 year degree in Childcare Development or Teacher Education. The amount of this scholarship is $3,500. - Women of the Moose, Newport Chapter No. 2060 - Two $500 scholarships will be offered to students in the class of 2023. This is for any graduating senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in the education, medical, pharmaceutical, veterinarian, or dental field. Requirements: Applicants should submit a letter of vocational intent, a resume, a school transcript, a copy of your college/university acceptance letter, and (3) recommendation letters. - The Buddy McKeel Scholarship for Children of First Responders: Our goal is to provide scholarships to deserving seniors who are also children of Carteret County first responders. An excellent candidate would be a student that not only excels academically but someone that gives back to the community by volunteering and / or participating in extra-curricular activities. The scholarship can be used at a four year university or college, trade school, or community college. Deadline: April 15, 2023.

- Colonel Jerry Marvel Scholarship: The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Down East Chaper 639, is offering one scholarship for one graduating senior in the amount of $1,000. Scholarships are payalbe to accredited vocational schools, community college, and four year colleges and universities. Eligibility: Graduating senior from Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico county, accepted to an accredited institution, a child/grandchild of a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a child / grandchild of a veteran awarded the Purple Heart, a child/grandchild of any war veteran, a child/grandchild of any member of the active duty military, or any member of a schools JROTC program. - Down East Girls Softball League Legends Scholarship: The Down East Girls Softball Leaue Legends Scholarship is a $1,000, non-renewing, scholarship awarded to any graduating East Carteret High School Senior. Eligibility: Played at least (3) years of softball with the Down East Girls Softball League, has and is currently playing on the East Carteret High School softball team, exhibited a strong academic performance throughout their years of high school, is planning to continue their education after graduation. - The William E. Smith, Jr. Memorial Scholarship: This is a $1,000 scholarship to be used for educational purposes at a 4-year college or university or community college in North Carolina. Eligibility: Graduating senior from ECHS and lives in Beaufort or East of Beaufort. Mrs. Roberson has the application. A completed package will include the application, a resume of academics, activities, athletics, employment, memberships, and organizations, an essay and one letter of reference from a teacher, school counselor, principal, or person in the community. - The Coastal Environmental Partnership Environmental Scholarship Program: This is a $1,000 scholarship to one high school senior in each of our three partnership counties (Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico). Scholarship applicants must be in pursuit of a degree in an environmental field. Mrs. Roberson has the application. Deadline March 3, 2023.
- Carteret County NAACP Scholarship: This is a $500 scholarship awarded to deserving students from any of the (3) high schools in Carteret County. Student must be a senior at ECHS, WCHS or CHS. Student must provide a brief statement highlighting their educational objectives, challenges you have faced in meeting those objectives, how you responded to those challenges, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals. Student must be active in community, church, or other civic organizations. Student must be accepted into an accredited university or community college and provide a letter of acceptance or verification of enrollment. Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 with a transcript attached to application. Student must provide 3 letters of recommendation with application packet. Mrs. Roberson has the application. - The Claire Martin Combs Memorial Scholarship: This is a $1,000 scholarship for an African American Female that is a current high school senior. The applicant must have overcome some circumstance that ordinalriy would be a deterrent to pursuing a college education as documented in their essay. The applicant must be active in the community, church, or other civic organizations. Student must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited university or community college and provide a letter of acceptance or verification of enrollment. Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. - 2023 LeeAnn Tuttle-Thomas Memorial CTE Scholarship: The North Carolina CTE Foundation is honored to sponsor the LeeAnn Tuttle-Thomas Memorial CTE Foundation Scholarship. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded annually to one qualifying high school senior who is pursuing futher education (certificate, diploma, or degree) at an accredited college (including community college) or university. - 2023 John Kirkman Honorary CTE Scholarship: The North Carolina CTE Foundation is honored to sponsor the John Kirkman Honorary CTE Foundation Scholarship. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded annually to one qualifying high school senior who is pursuing further education (certificate, diploma, or degree) at an accredited college (including community college) or university. One $100 scholarship will be awarded annually in each of the eight CTE Educational Regions to one qualifying high school school who is pursuing further education (certificate, diploma, or degree) at an accredited college (including community college) or university. - Russell Lewis Memorial Scholarship Fund: The goal of the Russell Lewis Memorial Scholarship is to provide a $1,000 yearly ($4,000 total) scholarship to a worthy applicant who is a current student at East Carteret or West Carteret and is accepted and will attend UNC-Chapel Hill as a freshman the following year. - The Arts Council of Carteret County (ACCC): The Arts Council of Carteret County is offering 5 scholarship opportunities for up to $1,000 per student to provide tuition assistance for students pursuing degrees in the arts at the college level (two- or four- year courses of study) at the NC School of the Arts. - Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Iota Sigma Zeta Chapter: Iota Sigma Zeta Chapter Academic SCholarship and Book Award are available to students residing in Carteret, Craven, Jones, and Pamlico counties who are graduating high school seniors. Applicants must be high school seniors pending acceptance or have been accepted at a two-year college or four-year university. Finalists for the awards will be contacted for an interview with the Scholarship Committee. - Evanglene Reels Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is open to a high school senior from Carteret County or Craven County with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The applicant must plan to obtain a Bachelors Degree from an HBCU (Historically Black College/University). The completed application package will include the application, a photograph of the applicant, an official transcript from school, two sealed letters of recommendation from your school, church, or employer (not a family member), and a typed essay with topic listed in the application. - Beaufort Ole Towne Rotary Scholarship: The Rotarians would like to provide a $2,000 scholarship to 10-15 students. Come see Mrs. Roberson for the application. All completed documents need to be submitted to the address on the cover page of the application. Deadline: March 31, 2023.
- The Pat and Bryan Motes Scholarship Fund: This scholarship was formed in memory of Pat Motes and facilitated by Bryan Motes. The scholarship is intended to identify excellent scholarship candidates within Carteret County Public Schools based solely on the merits of their activities, paid employment, and completion of college courses during their high school career. - Bob R. McGuire Memorial Scholarship - The North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship presents a $1,000 scholarship for 2023 graduates of high school that plan on attending college, university, or vocational school training. Eligibility: At least one parent must be a member of the NC Child Support Council or a client of the Child Support Program (through either Child Support services or Clerk of Court Services). Applicant must be a resident of NC and a graduating high school senior. Applicant must have maintained an overall C average or above during his/her high school career. - V.J. "Puck" & Pearl O'Neal Scholarship Fund - This scholarship is eligible to permanent, full-time, residents of Carteret County who were born in Carteret County and graduated from a Carteret County high school or received a high school equivalency certificate; who is purusing a degree at an institution of higher learning. Considerations in the selection of the recipient will be academic achievement, community ivolvement, leadership, and moral character. Special consideration may be given to applicants planning to pursue a major in Marine Science or Theology with purpose of entering seminary to be ordained as a clergy. Applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificate to verify birth in Carteret County. Deadline March 24, 2023.
- 2023 Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship - The Carteret County Education Foundation is pleased to offer, through the generosity of the Big Rock Foundation, the 2023 Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship. The Foundation will consider awarding one scholarship to one student graduating from EACH high school operated by the Carteret County Public School System. The purpose of the Program is to recruit, prepare, and support graduating high school seniors to attend college or university for preparation as a highly effective teacher in the Carteret County Public School System. If more than (3) students apply from one high school, the school scholarship committee will meet and choose the top (3) candidates from the school to move forward. - Geraldine Mayo Beveridge Scholarship - A graduating senior from Carteret County schools with a minimum 2.5 GPA who serves as a positive role model for other students, has applied for admission to an accredited two- or four- year college or university as a full-time student, and plans to pursue a degree in education to become a certified teacher of vocational education in fields such as business, agriculture, industrial arts, family & consumer education or health occupation education. - Carteret County Retired School Personnel Scholarship Endowment - Graduating senior from Carteret County public high school with a minimum 2.5 GPA who serves as a positive role model for other students, has applied for admission to an accredited two- or four- year college or university as a full-time student, and plans to pursue a degree in education. - Carteret County Democratic Women - This is a $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a deserving graduating senior from one of the Carteret County Public High Schools. The Professor Ernst I Schurer Citizens for Diversity in Education: In honor of Ernst I. Schurer, a Carteret County resident, world traveler, educator, and champion of fairness and equity, Citizens for Diversity in Education is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior of color from a Carteret County High School who will attend a two or four year college or university in the fall of 2023. The purpose of this scholarship is to “Grow Our Own” crop of college educated citizens of color who can contribute to our community, especially but not limited to our schools. Applicants will be ranked according to academic strength, financial need, and engagement in school and community. Additional points will be awarded to students who intend to pursue a career in teaching, further points will be awarded to students who intend to return to Carteret County to live and work. - Golden Leaf College & University Scholarship: The Golden LEAF Scholarship is designed to assist current North Carolina high school seniors and NC community college transfer students. Recipients must be from certain rural counties, plan to attend a participating NC college or university, demonstrate financial need, and express an intent to return to a rural NC community upon college graduation. The scholarship is funded by the Golden LEAF Foundation through a grant to the NC State Education Assistance Authority. Eligibility:
- Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes and reside in a qualifying rural North Carolina County as identified by the Golden LEAF Foundation

- Gloucester Community Center Scholarships: Mrs. Roberson has the hard copy application for the following 4 scholarships given through the Gloucester Community Center. Deadline for all of the following (4) scholarships is Monday April 3, 2023.
- Erma & Wermund Hansen Scholarship – A $1,000 scholarship based on financial need, citizenship, and strength of character. The award will be used for funding attendance at a University, Community College, Technical or Trade School or to obtain a Technical Certification (ie. Plumbing, Welding, HVAC, etc). Eligibility: Graduating Senior from ECHS whose residence is in one of the communities east of the North River Bridge. Student must demonstrate good citizenship and strong character. The student must have a 2.5 or above GPA. A hard copy of their transcript is required with the application.
- Woodrow & Mary Dudley Price Scholarship – A $1,000 scholarship for a senior graduating from ECHS. Considerations include scholastic achievement, individual financial need, and participation in outside activities including community service and character strengths that distinguish the student from his/her peers. Student must have been accepted by an accredited college or university and a hard copy of their transcript will need to be submitted with the application.
- Teaching Appreciation Scholarship – A $1,000 scholarship for a senior graduating from ECHS. Selection considerations include the intention to pursue teaching as a career, scholastic achievement, individual financial need, participation in outside activities including community service and character strengths that distinguish the student from his/her peers. Student must have been accepted by an accredited college, university, or community college in pursuit of a degree in education. A hard copy of their transcript will need to be submitted with the application.
- The Hansen Technical & Trade Scholarship – A $1,000 scholarship based on financial need, citizenship and strength of character. This award will be used for funding attendance at a Community College, Technical or Trade School or to obtain a Technical Certification (ie. Plumbing, HVAC, Welding, Med Tech, etc). Student must demonstrate good citizenship and strong character. Student must maintain at or above a 2.5 GPA and a hard copy of their transcript must be submitted with the application.
- Marine Federal Credit Union Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship available to 10 seniors graduating in 2023. Eligibility: Must be a graduating senior, applicant or parent must be a member of the Marine Federal Credit Union, must have an ACT or SAT score and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Apply online. Deadline April 10, 2023.
- NC Association of School Resource Officers Scholarship: A one-time non-renewable $500 college scholarship grant. The grant will be deposited into the selected student's financial aid account at the college or university of their choice. Eligible students must be high school seniors on track to graduate, a resident of North Carolina, have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 and who are entering an accredited two or four-year college or university. Strong consideration will be given to financial need, but scholastic standing will also be very important along with participation in extracurricular activities, personal reputation, and moral integrity within the standards of NCASRO. - NC Community Foundation Scholarships – Please review these scholarships that are SPECIFIC to just Carteret County!!! All applications will be handled online and each scholarship has a different deadline for completion.
- NAACP Charles McDonald Scholarship – This is a $500 scholarship for a deserving East Carteret student. Mr. McDonald was a life member of NAACP and a public servant through his work with law enforcement and local government in Beaufort. Money was donated to our local NAACP to honor Mr. McDonald after his death this past year. Please come see Mrs. Roberson for the application. Eligibility: Must be an African American senior at ECHS. Must express an interest in law enforcement, government, or other public service career. Minimum GPA of a 2.5. Deadline April 15, 2023.
- Emerald Isle Fishing Tournament Scholarship: The Executive Committee and sponsors of the Annual Emerald Isle Fishing Tournament invite applications for the 2023 Emerald Isle Tournament Scholarship. Graduating seniors from Swansboro, Croatan, East, MaST and West Carteret high schools are eligible to apply. Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited 2 year Community College or Technical College or a 4 year College or University. They must have an interest in some aspect of Marine or Coastal Science or Engineering, Environmental Science, or Policy and/or Sustainability. Eligibility: Any graduating senior from these local high schools with an interest in Marine or an Environmentally related career, except children of members of the Tournament Organizing Committee. The award is $3,000 to be paid directly to the recipient's college or university. Deadline: March 31, 2023.
- 2022-2023 SECU Foundation People Helping People Scholarship: This scholarship is a four-year scholarship program to help NC Public High School students attend college. This is a $10,000 scholarship payable at $1,250 per semester. Eligibility: NC Senior, SECU member either individually or through a parent / guardian, accepted to one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of NC System, a NC resident, GPA > 2.5, remains in good standing as a full time college student with the same University for 8 consecutive fall/spring semesters. - New Bern Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. - The New Bern Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is committed to acknowledging and rewarding academic excellence. In our continued efforts, we are awarding academic scholarships to deserving African-American high school seniors in our area. Six scholarships will be awarded to students from the following high schools: New Bern High/Craven Early College, West Craven High, Havelock High/ Craven Early College East, Jones Senior High, Pamlico County High, and a Carteret County High School. Deadline March 15, 2023.
- Marine Option Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) College Scholarship: This scholarship pays 100% of tuition costs (averaging
about $180,000 per student), either in-state OR out-of-state, for four years
while a student completes their bachelor's degree. After receiving eight
semesters of tuition and a monthly stipend, students then commission as Second
Lieutenants in the Marine Corps and begin a four-year term of Active Duty
service. There is also a subset of Marine Corps NROTC
Scholarships that are specifically for HBCUs. The second flyer addresses those
special scholarships and lists all 17 HBCUs at which they can be used.

2. Students must attend a school that has an NROTC unit on campus. In North
Carolina, their options are UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, and NC State. However, they

- Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship- Up to $55,000 PER YEAR to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school. Ability to pursue any area of study. Eligibility Requirements: Senior standing and plans to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2023, Fall 2023 college enrollment, minimum, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above and demonstrate an unmet financial need. - Good Citizens Essay Contest: This scholarship is between $100 - $400 depending on how many students enter the contest. This Otway Burns Chapter winner will advance to the North Carolina State competition.
- National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR): The North Carolina Society DAR is please to offer the following scholarship.
- NCSDAR Cordon Street Endowment Gift Scholarship: For students entering or enrolled in academically accredited technical schools, community colleges, colleges, or universities. 2 students will be awarded $1,500 each. Mrs. Roberson has the application if you are interested. Deadline: An application packet is to be submitted to the State Chair of the NCSDAR Scholarship Committee by the postmarked deadline of January 31, 2023.
- 2023 CCEC Foundation College Scholarship: One student each from East Carteret, West Carteret, Croatan and Havelock high schools will be selected to receive a scholarship. The scholarship program is open to students whose primary residence is on Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative’s lines. To qualify, the student must be a high school senior in the current graduating class and must be accepted at a 2-year community/technical college or 4-year college or university. Recipients are awarded up to $4,000 total; $500 each semester for eight semesters as long as the student maintains a 2.5 grade-point average (GPA).
- ELIGIBILITY:
1. The student’s primary residence must be on Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative (CCEC) lines.
2. The student must be a high school senior in the current graduating class and must be accepted or applyingat an accredited 2-year community/technical college or 4-year college or university.
3. The applicant cannot be a close relative of a CCEC employee or director. Close relative is defined as a
person who is related by consanguinity or affinity, to the third degree or less. - 2023 CCEC Foundation Community College Scholarship: The Carteret-Craven Electric Foundation Community College Scholarship is available forstudents who live on the Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative’s lines and are attending or planning to attend community college. To be eligible, the applicant must live at a residence that is served by Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative.

- Heisman High School Scholarship - The Heisman Memorial Trophy is renowned for symbolizing the pursuit of excellence with integrity. This scholarship is for remarkable young leaders that set the example and make a game-changing difference every day, paving the way for greatness for everyone around them. Eligibility begins with maintaining a weighted GPA of 3.0 (B average) or better. Applicants also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community. And applicants must participate or have participated in grades 9, 10, or 11 in at least one of the sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations. - Chuck Lewis Athletic Scholarship - This scholarship is due to Mrs. Roberson by April 29, 2022. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you are required to have: a 2.5 GPA, 85% attendance rate in class, (2) reference letters and one MUST come from a teacher, participate in (2) sports at ECHS, and you must write a letter indicating the importance of sports and education. Please make sure everything in your packet is turned in at one time.

- East Carteret High School Athletic Booster Club Scholarship: The ECHS Booster Club, Inc will be awarding scholarships to two female and two male senior student athletes. Each scholarship will be worth $500. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize athletic achievement, promote good sportsmanship, and encourage academic achievement.To be eligible, a graduating senior of ECHS must have participated and completed inter-school athletics for at least two full years to be eligible. The graduating senior must have participated in one sport during their senior year. Student must have at least a 2.3 unweighted GPA.The applicant shall have also been accepted to a recognized institution of higher learning. Deadline: Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 3pm.
- Jarrod T. Styron Memorial Scholarship: To be determined based on the investment income from the Jarrod T. Styron Scholarship Fund as administered by the United Methodist Foundation, Inc. (2022-2023 award anticipated being $1,500.00). ELIGIBILITY: Recipient must be a graduate (or graduating in June 2022) from East Carteret High School. Recipient must be in the top 10% of his or her graduating class and must have been accepted by a four-year college or university. - The John Kirkman Honorary CTE Scholarship & The LeeAnn Tuttle-Thomas Memorial CTE Scholarship -The NC CTE Foundation is offering (2) scholarships for deserving CTE students in North Carolina. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the student must be a CTE Concentrator, be a full-time student, have a minimum of a 3.0 unweighted GPA, and be accepted into an accredited college or university. Names will be submitted to the local public school unit by April 1, 2022. If chosen, the student will be asked to complete the online application to be sent to the state level. - TransImpact College Scholarship – The charitable arm of TransImpact, LLC, is excited to announce its decision to award 14 Scholarships to local 2022 high school graduating classes! Eligible senior applicants may be offered one of the following tiers of payouts: 2 awards of $3,000 each; 2 awards of $2,000 each; or 10 awards of $1,000. That is a total of $20,000, being paid out to 14 deserving students! - The Professor Ernst I. Schürer Citizens for Diversity in Education - The Carteret County organization Citizens for Diversity in Education is offering a $1,000 scholarship in honor of Professor Ernst I. - The Thomas Holmes Carrow Scholarship - Students – please check your emails! A google form needs to be completed by you to verify eligibility. The recipients of this award must be accepted for admission at one of the 16 constituent institutions of The University of North Carolina and enroll as a full-time undergraduate in a degree granting program for the fall of 2022.
- Nancy Duffy Russell Education Scholarship -The Nancy Duffy Russell Scholarship is for a student residing in Carteret County, North Carolina who is seeking an undergraduate degree in Education. - Colonel Jerry Marvel Scholarship 2022: One scholarship to one graduating senior per school, in the amount of $1,000 each. Eligibility: Graduating senior from Carteret, Craven and Pamlico counties. Must have been accepted by or applied to an accredited educational institution. If you have already received a full scholarship to any educational institution, you are ineligible for this scholarship. - The Claire Martin Combs Memorial Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an African American female that has overcome a circumstance that ordinarily would be a deterrent to pursuing a college education as documented in an essay. The student must be active in community, church, or other civic organizations. She must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited university or community college and be able to provide a letter of acceptance or verification of enrollment. - Jamal Jones Memorial Sickle Cell Scholarship: This scholarship was re-named in honor of Jamal Jones who passed away in 2021 and was the inspiration for the scholarship 5 years ago. - Taylor Health Care Scholarship 2022 - The Taylor Foundation was established by the Taylor brothers of Sea Level - D.E., William, Alfred, Leslie and their father Maltby Taylor in 1952. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist East Carteret High School Students in their pursuit of medical related careers, especially students that want to serve Carteret County. - East Carteret Alumni Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship fund was created by donations from faculty and staff and donations from past classes in memory of a lost East Carteret High School class member. Tallman Scholarships in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering: Graduate from a public high school in Carteret County with a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA who is a US citizen and has resided in Carteret County full-time for at least the past 12 months, who is enrolling full-time in an accredited four-year college or university seeking a bachelor's degree in either mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, and who demonstrates involvement in extracurricular activities and exhibits good moral character. **PLEASE NOTE: Although students should use the North Carolina Community Foundation's common application form, this scholarship requires three specific reference letters - (1) one from a math or physics teacher, (2) one from a teacher or school administrator, and (3) one from a non-family member in the community. "Puck" & Pearl O'Neal Scholarship Fund: Permanent, full-time resident of Carteret County who was born in Carteret County and graduated from a Carteret County high school or received a high school equivalency certificate; who is pursuing a degree at an institution of higher learning in either (1) marine science or (2) Christian studies with the purpose of entering seminary to be ordained as a clergy person. - 2022 Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship Information - The Carteret County Education Foundation is pleased to offer, through the generosity of the Big Rock Foundation, the 2022 Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship. The Foundation will consider awarding one scholarship each year to one student graduating from each high school operated by the Carteret County Public School System. Support is in the form of educational loan scholarships granted to selected graduates of any of the high schools operated by the Carteret County Public School System. - Golden Leaf Foundation Scholarship - The Golden LEAF Scholarship application for the 2022-2023 academic year is now available at CFNC.org. A total of 215 awards will be offered to students entering college for the first time this coming fall from qualifying rural and economically distressed or tobacco-dependent counties. The awards are valued at $14,000 ($3,500 per year for up to four years) for North Carolina high school students attending a participating North Carolina college or university. North Carolina community college transfer students can receive $3,500 per year for up to three years. Deadline: March 1, 2022
- Emerald Isle Fishing Tournament Scholarship – Students interested in pursing further education at a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university. They must have an expressed interest in some aspect of Marine or Coastal Science or Engineering, by planning to major in marine biology, ecology, oceanography, fisheries, biology, geology, environmental science, climate change, marine policy, ocean engineering, ship-building, or chemistry or physics of the ocean. 2021 SECU Foundation People Helping People Scholarship–Come see Mrs. Roberson or email her for the application!
The SECU Foundation People Helping People 4-year scholarship valued at $10,000 is payable at $1,250 per semester, for a total of eight consecutive semesters. Recipients must be enrolled full-time for the entire eight consecutive semesters at one of the 16 universities in the UNC system. Recipients must continue as a full-time student in good standing.

The North Carolina Coastal Federation is pleased to announce the 2022 Coastal Stewardship Award, providing $1,000 to three graduating high school seniors with outstanding dedication to our coastal environment. Deadline: Applications must be received by 11:59pm on February 13th. The award decision will be announced in April.
- The BBB Educational Foundation of Eastern North Carolina is now accepting applications for its annual scholarships. This year BBB Education Foundation of Eastern NC is offering 8 scholarships totaling $15,000. In addition to five scholarships for $1,000 each, there are also individual scholarships in the amounts of five thousand dollars, three thousand dollars and two thousand dollars.
- The Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship is open to any young woman who is currently graduating from an accredited public high school in North Carolina that follows the NC Standard Course of Study and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university in North Carolina next fall. - Florence Kidder Memorial Scholarship- The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of North Carolina will award scholarships of first place - $3,000, second place - $1,000, third place - $800 and three fourth places - $400 to North Carolina high school seniors, to be used at any North Carolina college or university. The recipients will be selected on the basis of the merit of an essay on the assigned topic, plus character and scholastic record and need.
